A mid-afternoon wedding this time, and in a new venue for us – the Bella Donna Chapel in McKinney, TX. The chapel sits on a peninsula surrounded by water in the middle of the Adriatica development, itself inspired by Old World Croatian architecture. The acoustics in the chapel are remarkable – a perfect natural environment for strings. The music for the prelude and ceremony was mostly classical, but with a few surprises thrown in, like this one:
Prelude:
Larghetto Cantabile – Chaine
Fanfare from ‘Première Suite de Symphonies’ – Mouret
Ave Maria – Degan
March from ‘Occasional Oratorio’ – Handel
Wedding from ‘Seabiscuit’ – Newman
March from ‘Song of the Birth of Our Lord Jesus Christ’ – Charpentier
Ave Verum – Saint-Saëns
Trumpet Tune and Trumpet March – Clarke
Allegro, Menuet, and Lentement from ‘Suite in G Major (Water Music)’ – Handel
Air from ‘Suite in F Major (Water Music)’ – Handel
Service:
Seating of Honored Guests: Canon in D – Pachelbel
Processional of the Bridal Party: Don’t Stop Believin’ – Journey
Processional of the Bride: Ave Maria – Schubert
Recessional: Wedding March from ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’ – Mendelssohn
>Postlude: Don’t Stop Believin’ – Journey
Musicians:
Clare Adkins Cason – Violin
Corinia Maxson – Violin
Claire Garza – Viola
David Cason – Violoncello
Special thanks to Ashley from Bella Donna Chapel for excellent planning and coordination!
