28 July 2012 | Coers — McDaniel | PCPC Dallas

exultate justi

Four Strings provided a string duo for the 28 July 2012 wedding of Kitty Coers and Robert McDaniel, held in the chapel of Park Cities Presbyterian Church, Dallas, TX.

Music for the prelude was all classical, drawn from the broad repertoire of our duo, String Duo Dallas. The ceremony was traditional as well, excepting the Recessional, for which the groom chose a personal favorite: the Exultate Justi of John Williams, originally heard in the 1987 film Empire of the Sun. Entirely too large for a string duo, we performed the piece in an arrangement featuring J. Marty Cope at the piano.

Ceremony
Seating of Family: Air from Orchestral Suite 3 in D (Bach)
Bridal Party: Sheep May Safely Graze (Bach)
Bridal Processional: Canon in D (Pachelbel)
Recessional: Exultate Justi (Williams)

String Duo Dallas
Clare Adkins Cason – Violin
David Cason – Violoncello
with J. Marty Cope – Piano

Four Strings provided a string quartet for the mid-summer wedding of Julianne Rhodes and Derek Moore, held at the First United Methodist Church in Sherman, TX on 27 July 2012.

The ceremony music was chosen from the traditional repertoire, with the exception of the Recessional, which was the Act 3 Sinfonia from Handel’s Solomon, perhaps more well-known under the title “Arrival of the Queen of Sheba.” Though featured on many wedding music CDs, it remains an unusual though effective choice for the ceremony.

Prelude
Ombra mai fù from Serse (Handel)
Ave Verum (Saint-Saëns)
The Grand Dance from ‘King Arthur’ (Purcell)
Music for the Royal Fireworks (Handel)
Wedding from Seabiscuit (Newman)
Trumpet Voluntary in D 6/5 (Stanley)
Air from Suite 1 in F (Handel)

Ceremony
Seating of Honored Guests: Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring (Bach)
Bridal Party: Air from Orchestral Suite 3 (Bach)
Bridal Processional: Canon in D (Pachelbel)
Recessional: Arrival of the Queen of Sheba from ‘Solomon’ (Handel)

Four Strings String Quartet
Clare Cason – Violin
Corinia Maxson – Violin
Veronika Vassileva – Viola
David Cason – Violoncello

Feedback

I cannot stress how awesome these talented musicians are! They are incredibly professional, accommodating, willing to please, available for phone and email conversations, and boy – do they make some beautiful music!! As my (now) husband and I were getting married, they were the perfect complement to our ceremony. I am so impressed with Four Strings! -Julianne R. Sherman, TX
